Four years after he finished seminary, Norm began a mission to Kenya that lasted 26 years. He helped train Kenyans for ministry in the church and taught missionary kids at Rift Valley Academy. He returned to the States - and pastoral ministry -- in 1999.
"It is gratifying to know that there are still men in the ministry that I taught here in the US, and that across Kenya and other African countries there are literally hundreds of men and women faithfully serving the Lord who sat under my teaching and mentoring ministry," he says.
Norm retired in 2007 but still pastors a church part time and is a retirement community chaplain. "The commitment of the Evangelical faculty to quality education and their vision for reaching a lost world was more than adequate to enable me to continue on in theological education and to serve in a wide variety of ministries," Norm says. "What was lacking in breadth of teaching because of the limited number of faculty was compensated by learning the skills that enabled me to continue to grow."
