Emily "Mimi" Keller spends her days caring for people the rest of the world too easily forgets. For 24 years, Mimi has worked at Jubilee Ministries in Lebanon, serving families of inmates, women recently released from prison, and the homeless.
"Inmates' families are often the 'forgotten' victims," Mimi says. "Helping families to problem-solve and survive sometimes for years because a spouse is incarcerated, can be a major challenge. Coordinating programs for inmates' children has been rewarding as well as heart-wrenching. Women leaving prison face multiple challenges: housing employment, addiction issues, reconnecting with family and many times mental health issues. I seek to help make the transition from prison possible."
