Kenneth H. Miller, Ph.D.

Professor of Christian Theology

B.A. The Pennsylvania State University
M.Div. Evangelical School of Theology
Ph. D. Trinity Evangelical Divinity School

"Seeing students come alive with respect to the life of the Christian mind is what excites me about theological education as a career. Interpreting the world in Christian categories, rather than Christianity in worldly categories, is what I see as the renewing of the mind-a transforming act of worship, according to Paul."

Ken was called to ministry out of secular employment in the banking industry. A graduate of Evangelical, he has led congregations in Dauphin and York Counties, as well as in Highland Park, Ill. The latter occurred in conjunction with his doctoral studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He came to Evangelical in 1993; in addition to teaching, Ken served as Academic Dean from 2002-2005, deciding to return to fulltime classroom duties thereafter.

He has continued to be involved in pastoral ministry, serving as interim pastor at five different churches over the past several years. Ken is also a frequent speaker at Bible Conferences, churches, retreats, and college campuses. In the spring of 2007 he taught at The Evangelical College of Theology in northeast India. He is heavily involved in the Myerstown community, serving three terms on the Eastern Lebanon County School District's Board of Education, on the district's Drug and Alcohol Task Force, and as the Community Representative to the Ethics Committee of the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. He has authored articles in The Evangelical Journal, and is currently working on a survey of doctrine for the Evangelical Congregation Church.

Ken is married to Julie, who has worked in Rostad Library since 1993. They are the parents of Allison and Andrea and the grandparents of Harrison.
