Natalie Groff, M.A.M.F.T., 2011

Natalie Groff is passionate about her calling as mother to toddler Wesley and baby Lydia. But she also follows a call to use her gifts as a marriage and family therapist. This year, God provided a perfect fit for her: working part time with River of Hope, a therapy ministry in Lebanon begun by fellow alumnus Dave Musser.

"Seeing God provide the perfect fit of a part-time job for my passions and life calling as a mom," she says, is a highlight of her post-Evangelical life. And working in an environment where she can pray with clients and talk about spiritual issues is a blessing.

"Evangelical gave me the tools I needed to be an effective therapist and the confidence I needed to pursue the passions God had laid on my heart," she says. "The training I received prepared me with the skills, experience, and spiritual formation necessary to be an effective therapist. Evangelical's integration of theory and theology was integral in preparing me for the work I do every week at River of Hope. I am very grateful God led me to Evangelical."

Marilyn Nolte, M.A.R., 1993

The transformation and education Marilyn experienced she now shares with others as the chaplain coordinator and women's chaplain for Jubilee Ministries' prison ministry in Lebanon, PA.

"I was encouraged and nurtured by faculty and fellow students," Marilyn says. "My husband came to Christ in 1992, partly because of the Christian community he experienced at Evangelical events. Dave Dorsey befriended him and helped to open him to Jesus."

Evangelical provided "relevant teaching," she says, that helped her "formulate a biblical worldview and grow in my relationship with Christ."

"Seeing God's love and power change a life," she says, is the best part of her job.

Keith Blank, M.Div., 2005

Keith Blank is the senior pastor of Trinity E.C. Church in Harrisburg, and previously served as director of youth and family ministry at Faith Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg and Bethany E.C. Church in Sunbury, PA.

He received a Doctor of Ministry in 2009, writing on the topic of lasting revival. He enjoys "transforming and revitalizing congregations, preparing them to take their place in the future that God has called them to."

"I don't run into a lot of unconverted people who need to be saved," Keith says. "I run into a lot of people who have heard the Gospel story at some time in their lives but who have been 'Church-burned' for whatever reason. It is thrilling to have a part in restoring their faith in what the church can be for them."

He credits the education he received at Evangelical for "the strength and confidence to do the job that God is calling me to do."

Ken Miller, M.Div., 1985

Ken Miller returned to Evangelical in 1993 as a professor teaching theology and ethics. "The opportunity to be involved in ministry while teaching pastors has been invaluable," Ken says. "The best part of my job is seeing people embrace the life of the mind for service to Christ and His church. That happens as much in the office, where I get to speak with students individually, as it does in the classroom, where they learn as much from one another as from me."

His experience as a student at Evangelical is what he offers to his students today. "Evangelical has done so much for me in providing theological education that is personal as well as academic, so that I could learn from the people, not just the ideas in the books," he says. "It is what I wish to pass along to those who venture into the classrooms today, where I am on the other side of the desk."

Daniel Moury, M.Div., 2007

Dan worked as a mechanical engineer, then entered seminary with a call to full-time ministry. He pastored while taking classes, but a year after he graduated, Dan and his wife, Melinda, sensed God leading them to missions. Dan serves at Wycliffe USA headquarters using his videography skills.

"I find myself in a role where I regularly see and hear of amazing stories of what God is doing in places all around the world," Dan says. "I then get to be a part of telling those stories to the world so that God might be glorified, His Church might be edified, and the vital work of Bible translation across the globe might accelerate toward completion."
