A Faith in the Marketplace event featuring Dale Yoder, President of Cornerstone Design-Architects, was held on Thursday, April 11, at 7:00 am. Dale Yoder broughth his unique insight to business, ministry, and community leaders at Lancaster Mennonite High School. His message, "Are Core Values Core after the Last Four?", addressed how the difficult economic times of the past four years present a great challenge to our core values.

Wesley Forum Features Dr. Charles Yrigoyen
On April 4, Evangelical Seminary hosted our annual Wesley Forum, entitled "The Wesleys Still Speak." Dr. Yrigoyen is General Secretary Emeritus of the General Commission on Archives and History of the United Methodist Church. He is an ordained clergy member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church and Director of United Methodist Studies at Lancaster Theological Seminary. He formerly taught United Methodist Studies courses for Evangelical.
Dr. Amy Sherman at Faith in the Marketplace
On Tuesday, March 19, at 7:00 am, Dr. Amy Sherman brought her unique insight to business, ministry and community leaders at Evangelical's Zinn Commons. Faith in the Marketplace is designed to help those in leadership integrate Christian faith into the marketplace and allow a vocation to be far more than a profession, rather a calling of God.
Dr. Amy Sherman, Senior Fellow at the Sagamore Institute for Policy Research, where she directs the Center on Faith in Communities. Dr. Sherman is the author of six books and 75+ published articles in such diverse periodicals as Christianity Today, First Things, The Public Interest, Policy Review, Prism, The Christian Century, and Books & Culture. Dr. Sherman is a leading national expert on charitable choice, an advisor to the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, and the author of The Charitable Choice Handbook for Ministry Leaders.

Conversations that Matter with Barbara Krasner, Ph.D.
On March 12, Dr. Barbara Krasner was our guest for a "Conversations that Matter" event entitled Dialogue in Real Time. Dr. Krasner earned a Ph.D. in religion and psychology at Temple University. As a Contextual Therapist, presenter, and author, her overriding passion is to embody and inspirit dialogue that renews trust in the service of justice.
Dr. Krasner presented three lectures: From Generation to Generation: Upside Down Parenting, Inspirited or Dispirited: Whatever happened to Loving Kindness?, and Repairers of the Breach: Practicing Fairness.
Dorsey Lecture on the Old Testament
Dr. Eugene Merrill, Professor of Old Testament at Dallas Theological Seminary and renowned author, was our guest speaker February 21 in honor of Dr. David Dorsey. His topic was "Life's Intersections: What to Do with Forks in the Road." This event was sponsored by the Schoffstall Family Foundation.
Featuring Dr. Miroslav Volf LIVING OUT PUBLIC FAITH IN A GLOBAL SOCIETY Held November 15, 2012
Dr. Volf's challenging message focused on the Christian mandate in 1 Peter of honoring and respecting everyone, even our opponents. This was the most social media integrated event Evangelical Seminary's history as a number of participants tweeted live at the event! Harrisburg MDiv Program Ribbon Cutting
On Monday, August 27, Evangelical Seminary hosted a gathering of business and community leaders at our new location in Harrisburg (28 Dewberry Street), including the mayor, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The beautiful sunny day was filled with lots of excitement for this milestone for the Capital City! A local religious reporter covered the story. Guests lingered to enjoy refreshments after observing gigantic scissors officially "cut the ribbon" for this exciting new venture.
